The Levy bail bond process can seem very complicated at times.  One of the reasons that it can seem so complex is the fact that there are process variances between different counties and states.  Fortunately, most of the required information is the same across different regions.  In Levy County, the process begins when the indemnitor (the person who has agreed to be responsible for the defendant) contacts their bond agency with:

• The full legal name of the defendant

• The defendant’s date of birth

• The date of their arrest

• The amount to be posted

• A payment method (usually a major credit card, or cash)

  • Bronson Bail Bond
  • Chiefland Bail Bond
  • Fanning Springs Bail Bond
  • Inglis Bail Bond
  • Morriston Bail Bond
  • Rosewood Bail Bond
  • Otter Creek Bail Bond
  • Williston Bail Bond

Releasing this information to the bondsman early as possible makes it simple for the bondsman to begin their work.  This makes it more efficient for them to release the defendant.  During this point in the proceedings, it is also most efficient for the bondsman to speak directly to the indemnitor.  If that is not possible, other arrangements can be made.

After you have provided the information, your bond agent will confirm the information with the county jail.  They are required to double check the bond amount, and charges against the defendant.  This step is also important to check for outstanding warrants that you or the defendant may not be aware of.  In certain cases, these warrants can render the defendant ineligible for bail.  Once the information has been confirmed, you and the bondsman will begin to work together to complete the bail bond request paperwork.  The bond cannot be posted until all of the pertinent paperwork has been received.  Only after the paperwork is complete and bond is posted can the defendant be released.

The greatest difference in procedure between counties is the processing time, and the time it takes for the defendant to be released.

Location is an important factor when choosing a bond agent.  They not only have an intimate knowledge of the local court, but it makes the proceedings easier.  It is illegal for a bondsman to post bond in a county where they are not registered.  If you want to post bail in Levy County, then, you should retain a Levy County bond agent.  This is why a bond agent is often registered in their home county, as well as a few neighboring counties.  A transfer is required to post bonds in another county, and fees may be applied.  Brennan Bail also writes Levy County immigration bonds.
