Jackson County Bail Bond Agency

There are several bail bond agents to choose from in Jackson County Florida. However, choosing Brennan Bail bonds is you best choice.  Each one of our bondsman is required to be licensed and is either insured through an agency or backs themselves with personal currency to run their business.  These are limited surety agents and professional bail bond agents.  The ordinary rules apply in Jackson County and are as follows:

The bond is set at 10% of initial bail and only changes under circumstances that make the case high risk.  This would include immigration bail bonds, federal bail bonds, and transfers.

The indemnitor (person responsible and representing the arrestee) must provide all pertinent information to the bondsman:

  1. Arrestee’s full name
  2. Birth date
  3. Date of Arrest
  4. Bail amount
  5. Major credit card

The indemnitor must fill out and sign all required bond forms.

The defendant must appear at each assigned court date for the case

The process may be completed over the telephone for indemnitor convenience.  This process requires a fax machine and copy machine.  The indemnitor must download the bond forms, sign them and fill them out completely.  The bondsman will need the bond forms, a copy of the indemnitor’s photo identification, and a copy of the indemnitor’s credit card used for payment faxed to them.  The bond forms include:

  • A privacy disclosure
  • A defendant questionnaire
  • A bail bond conditions form
  • A credit card authorization form

The next step involves waiting for the jail to release the inmate.  This process, depending on the jail’s methods, could take 5 to 12 hours and is not dependent on the chosen bondsman.  Each jail in Jackson County has a different process of release for inmates.

After the release of the arrestee, the next step is following up with all assigned court dates.  After the arrestee attends all court dates and the case is closed, then the indemnitor’s bond amount will be returned.  The bondsman will charge a fee for their service also.  Any collateral put up by the indemnitor will also be released.

In the event the arrestee does not return to court dates, the indemnitor loses their bail bond and the collateral will be used to pay the bond.  The defendant is then subject to further legal action as well as recovery.  Jackson County Florida has Recovery Agents with the sole job of locating arrestees who do not attend required court dates.  These Recovery Agents are also licensed bondsmen.
