The Florida Bail Bond Process

Bail Bond Process in FloridaFor every different county in Florida, the bail bond process will be slightly different, so it’s impossible to say exactly how long it will take. Each county will have different ways of carrying out the inmate release process, with some going through with it very quickly, while others may take some time. It is important to remember that the bail bond agency has no control over the inmate release procedure, and so cannot speed it up. Although this is sometimes a frustrating part of the bail bond process, it is unavoidable and so you have to be patient. Any bail bond agency trying to claim that they are able to speed up the inmate release process are being untruthful, it’s that simple.

When you first realize that you’ll need to bail someone out of jail, you need to call us. We’ll ask you for some simple details such as the name of the defendant, their date of birth and where they are being held. With this information, we can then make more complete searches using our databases to find out more about the individual case. If you are going to become the indemnitor, we’ll need to speak to you about your responsibilities and the payment of the premium.

Once we have all the information, we will ask you to fill out some forms with simple details about yourself and the defendant. You will also need to provide two forms of identification, such as a credit card and driving license. Once the forms have been filled out, we are then able to post the bond in order to initiate the release of the defendant.

Once released, the defendant is in your custody, it becomes your responsibility to ensure that he or she appears in court when summoned. If they fail to appear in court, you will be charged the full bond. Obviously, the full bond could be a huge amount of money, so it is important you know the whereabouts of the defendant, and that you can trust him to appear in court.

Once the case has been discharge, the bond is dissolved and you will be released of any responsibility to do with the defendant. The process sounds quite complicated, but there is actually not that much involved and within a matter of hours the person can be released from jail. The paperwork is probably the only part that takes some time, but that takes only around 30-45 minutes.
